Privacy Policy

The Adachi Foundation for the Preservation of Woodcut Printing recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and handles personal information in accordance to the following policies and procedures.

1. Basic principles on the protection of personal information

The foundation appoints a management supervisor for personal information in divisions handling personal information from individual customers (“personal information”) so as to ensure the protection of personal information.

2. Acquisition of personal information

When obtaining personal information from an individual, the foundation will explain in advance the intended use of the information as specifically as possible. In addition, the foundation will clearly present its contact information to the customer before acquiring personal information to the extent necessary.

3. Use of personal information

The foundation may send by email, post or other methods or phone customers about information concerning the foundation’s activities and other matters it believes may be useful to customers.
Customers may notify the foundation through methods specified by the foundation separately to stop or restart receiving such information.

4. Sharing personal information with a third party

The foundation may consign the processing of personal information to a third party to the extent that it is necessary for use in legitimate purposes such as system development and maintenance. In such cases, the foundation will obligate the third party under a contract to protect the personal information from leakage and transfer to other parties and also will provide appropriate supervision.

5. Provision and disclosure of personal information

The foundation will take appropriate measures to manage personal information acquired from its customers and will not provide or disclose such information to a third party except in the following cases:
a. When the customer has given consent.
b. When the provision or disclosure of such information to a third party is allowed by laws and ordinances, such as when the disclosure of such information is requested by a public agency.
c. When the minimum amount of information necessary is provided to a company with which the foundation has entered into a service agreement.

6. Disclosure, correction, termination of use, deletion of personal information

Customers may make requests to the foundation about referencing or correcting personal information. The foundation will respond to such requests promptly within a reasonable time.

7. Improvement of privacy and related policies

The foundation will strictly abide by all laws and regulations applicable to personal information held by the foundation. In addition, the foundation will review and improve the policies and procedures described above in a timely manner.
