“Ukiyo-e” Printmaking Demonstration with English commentary on November 25, 2023

World famous Hokusai’s “Great Wave” was produced by the woodcut printing technique as well as other ukiyo-e prints in the Edo period (1603-1868). Adachi has reproduced over 12000 kinds of ukiyo-e using the same materials and techniques.

This printmaking demonstration scheduled on November 25 will be specially held for English speakers! One of Adachi’s printers will show the whole printing process of “Great Wave” along with an English explanation.

“Ukiyo-e” Printmaking Demonstration

Admission is free.
Application: Apply from a Google form. Because of the limited seating numbers, 30 people chosen by the lottery can attend the demonstration. The application form should be submitted by November 12 (JST). We will notify all applicants about the result of the lottery by November 15.
